IMSI
IMSI stands for Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected sperm injection .IMSI is a technique among IVF treatment for the sperm selection after the examination of sperm by the usage of high – magnification digital imaging microscope for the microinjection into the egg. IMSI is recommended mostly for those couples which have faced the history of the consecutive implantation failures, consecutive ICSI failures etc.
Our doctors get to understand the structure of the sperms more appropriately by the usage of the IMSI technique thus enabling them to prevent the sperm with the abnormalities to be injected into the eggs.

IMSI Procedure :
A unique selection of sperm is carried out by using the microscope with the magnification power of 400x which is near about 15 times more powerful than the usual microscopes.
By the usage the doctors can detect the sperms with abnormalities and those sperms are rejected for the fertilization of eggs. According to the WHO, a mature sperm should be of oval shape with 4-5 microns length and 2.5-3.5 microns wide.
A sperm is injected into each egg through Intracytoplasmic sperm injection technique .There is increased chances of successful implantation of the embryo when the sperm without any kind if the alteration is used.
1 to 3 spermatozoa is selected to be placed in a thin catheter and then inserted deep into the uterus by the gynecologist.
Why is IMSI preferred over other IVF treatment?
IMSI is highly encouraged for the males with abnormal sperm count and unexpected outcomes from the previous IVF treatments which enhance the selection method improving the chances of fertilization and normal embryo development.
Due to the increased usage of digital high magnification of the sperms, our scientists or doctor under research projects have a high level of understanding of the individual sperm about its structure and due to this, they can identify the sperms with the abnormal abilities and thus prevent the from being injected into the cells being used for fertilization. Those sperms which are identified as normal then they are used for fertilization process by the usage of the ICSI method.
IMSI is suitable for whom?
ICSI is suitable for the ones:
Cost for IMSI Treatments:
The cost of the IMSI treatment is very high as it includes some additional cost to the cost of ICSI treatment. This additional cost includes the usage of highly sophisticated technology and the time involvement of the senior scientists while performing IMSI.
